My husband and I experienced a wonderful guided tour of the Prado Museum with Hernan from Private Madrid Museum Tours. We received an unforgettable history lesson on the greatest works of art, with fascinating facts and true stories about each painting and artist. We intend to return to Madrid and visit the Prado and other museums again with Hernan as our guide. Terrific tour
We contracted with Private Madrid Museum Tours for a tour of essential sights at the Prado, and were connected with Irina, extremely knowledgeable (and very nice!). She took us to her recommendations, and flexibly, some of our own wishes. The Prado is so massive this was a perfect way to see some of its most exquisite paintings and sculptures. Brilliant! Highly recommended!
Just do it!
We hired a private guide, Irina, for 2 hours in the Prado. She brought the Museum and it’s key exhibits to life and turned what would otherwise have been a random, aimless and quiet ramble into a super history lesson, helping us to understand the political statements the artists were making in their greatest works.
Knowledgeable, professional, personable
Madrid Museum Tours is a very professional organization. They respond in a timely manner and follow through with great service. But the real star for us was our guide, Irina. She was very knowledgeable about the history and art of Madrid. She added her own personal touch and you could see the enthusiasm and passion she has for her work. We are filled with memories of Madrid, the art, and of our new friend Irina, who showed us around.

My family and I express our great appreciation for Irina’s tour. She delivered great incite and scholarship in a refreshing and delightful manner. Her ability to customize the tour with some of my earlier expressed interests and provide continuity in the overall tour was greatly appreciated. She also gave us a deeper understanding of what attracts us to a particular painting or style versus the typical, “I like that one.”I returned to the museum for an additional 5 hours and the provided headset and signage were a shadow of what we received on our tour. In fact, it was Irina’s instruction that brought enrichment and appreciation to my second visit. We will never forget this tour and recommend that anybody visiting the greatest art collection in the world consider this tour as a valuable way to truly deepen an experience of a lifetime. It is well worth it.

I write this blog to remember a year that I would like to forget:
– In 2020 a Coronavirus pandemic ravaged the world.
– With it, came the Economic Ruin.
Our country, Spain, was one of the most affected. 2020 was the year of Confinement. For tourists and travelers. Airports got closed and with it, Tourism passed away. In Spain, the balance of the 2020 tourist season, showed 40 million less tourists and 50 billion Euros of losses.
