ROYAL ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS
Madrid Museum Tours private tour through a fantastic collection in paintings, drawings, engravings, and sculptures from the XVI century to the present.
Our Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando private tour unveils one of the most exclusive art collections in Madrid and, paradoxically, outmost underrated. In fact, The Madrid Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando was Spain’s most prestigious Art Institution in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Great painters of Spanish Romanticism, Sorolla, Picasso and Dalí, among many others, were its distinguished students.
The highlight of this private tour is a detailed guided visit to the copper plates of the amazing Goya’s etchings:
- Desastres de la Guerra
Apart of Goya’s etchings our private tour provides a thorough knowledge in magnificent masterpieces of the art of painting : Arcimboldo spring, El Españoleto, Zurbaran, Francisco Collantes, P.P. Rubens, Carreño de Miranda, Antonio de Pereda, Zuloaga, Joaquin Sorolla and other awesome Goya works, among many others.
Irina will share with you interesting facts about each painting school or artist, that are seldom found in regular guidebooks or audio guides.
Another highlight of this private tour of Madrid Museum Tours is the striking ensemble “The Killing of the Innocents” by Jose Gines, chief sculptor of the Bourbon King Charles IV.
Our mission is to transmit to you a deep knowledge of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando where, as we said, notable Spanish artists made their first steps in the art of painting. For this reason, this is one of our favourite tours. All travellers are invited to join it, to get indelible memories of a wonderful travel experience.
