Madrid Museum Tours offers an exciting private tour of the wonderful collection of one of the most important Spanish personalities and Art Collectors of contemporary times.
José Lázaro Galdiano was in the early twentieth century the richest man in Spain but also editor of the most important literary magazine in the country, an expert bibliophile, enthusiastic promoter of Spanish culture and, above all, one of the most prestigious and renowned universal art collectors in the world.
Our private tour of the Lázaro Galdiano Museum is a dazzling tour of an impressive collection of silverware (from the fourteenth century to the early twentieth century), unique glass objects, valuable sculptures of small bronzes and especially paintings which can be easily considered a historical and artistic testimony of the first magnitude.
We will share with our clients unknown and yet relevant aspects of the real treasure of the Museum comprised of paintings and frescoes from Spanish masters of the fifteenth century to the magnificent Goya. We will also be able to admire the precious small bronzes with religious or mythological themes, as well as intriguing and invaluable glasses, dishes and lamps, along with a set of silver pieces of unquestionable quality, in all its forms.
We will also engage our customers in the story behind the man: the most significant moments of Lazaro Galdiano’s life highlighting an entertaining symbiosis between his private life and his public and tireless activities as art collector.
